Winthill in Banwell is the site of roman villa.
Discoveries here include foundations, bones, sherds, box flue tile, a burial and coins of the first to fourth centuries. The buried remains of a villa also include a bath house, pottery , mosaic and hypocaust. Site is surveyed only and no features are now visible above ground.
Also discocered here was the Winthill bowl which is now in the Ashmolean Museum.
